1. Who we are
Kingsley Advisory Group ("KAG," "we," "us," "our") is an independent construction and development advisory practice operating in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. Our principal place of business is in British Columbia.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, diagnostic tool, and email correspondence, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to information collected through:
- kingsleyadvisorygroup.com
- diagnostic.kingsleyadvisorygroup.com
- Direct email correspondence with KAG
- Any related domains operated by KAG
This policy is governed by, and intended to comply with, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the British Columbia Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Direct any question, access request, correction request, deletion request, or complaint regarding your personal information to that address.
3. What we collect
When you use the KAG Diagnostic or contact us, we may collect:
At the intake gate: your name (or company name) and email address.
Through the diagnostic intake form: project address (entered or selected via address autocomplete), project type and subtype, project stage, your role on the project, total project budget and any hard-cost / soft-cost / contingency split you choose to enter, building and site area, scope of work selections, scope notes, your primary concern about the project, and stage-specific answers (for example, contractor engagement status, existing reports on file, timeline pressure).
Through written communication: anything you send us by email, including project details, attachments, and follow-up correspondence.
Automatically, through site operation: standard server and analytics signals (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time on site, referring URL) collected by our hosting and analytics providers for the purpose of operating and improving the site.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. The Diagnostic is designed for individuals making or advising on construction and development decisions.
4. Why we collect it
We collect personal information for the following purposes:
To deliver the Diagnostic you requested. Your intake submission is the basis for the written analysis we prepare and return to you.
To follow up on your project. If your submission indicates you may benefit from a scoped engagement, consultation, or further conversation, we may follow up by email to offer those options.
To send you content and updates from KAG, where you have opted in to receive them. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such email, or by writing to pieter@kingsleyadvisorygroup.com.
To maintain business records. We keep submission records to support work that may arise from the Diagnostic and to meet our professional, legal, and accounting obligations.
To improve the Diagnostic. We review anonymized and aggregate patterns across submissions to refine our methodology and benchmarks. We do not use your individual submission to train any third-party machine-learning system.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Service providers and cross-border processing
We use service providers to operate the site, store submissions, deliver email, and support our written analysis. These providers operate under contractual obligations regarding the handling of personal information, and we share with them only the information necessary for the service they provide.
Some of these service providers are located in the United States. This means that personal information you submit may be processed or stored outside of Canada, including hosting infrastructure, email delivery, and the language-processing services that support our written analysis. While in the custody of these providers, personal information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which the provider operates, including lawful access by law enforcement or government authorities in that jurisdiction.
The service providers we use for processing personal information do not retain submissions for their own product development or for the training of machine-learning models.
A current list of the categories of service providers we use, and the jurisdictions in which they operate, is available on request to pieter@kingsleyadvisorygroup.com.
6. How we store and protect your information
Submissions are stored in access-controlled cloud infrastructure operated by our service providers. Access to submission records is limited to Pieter Schoeman and, where strictly necessary, contracted personnel bound by confidentiality obligations.
We use industry-standard security measures — encryption in transit, access controls, and authentication on administrative interfaces — to protect personal information. No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you provide.
7. How long we keep it
We retain submission records and related correspondence for 24 months from the date of submission, after which records are archived to a read-only state. Records may be retained beyond 24 months only where:
- An active engagement, consultation, or ongoing correspondence with you is in progress
- Retention is required to meet a professional, legal, accounting, or regulatory obligation
- You have consented to a longer retention period
You may request earlier deletion of your records at any time by writing to pieter@kingsleyadvisorygroup.com (see Section 9).
8. Cookies and analytics
Our sites use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and understand aggregate visitor behaviour. We do not use cookies for cross-site behavioural advertising. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect site functionality.
9. Your rights
Under PIPEDA and PIPA, you have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you, subject to limited exceptions in the legislation.
Correct personal information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
Withdraw consent to our continued use of your personal information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Where consent is withdrawn, we may no longer be able to provide you with services that depend on that information.
Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal or contractual obligations that may require us to retain it.
Make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, write to pieter@kingsleyadvisorygroup.com. We will respond within 30 days, or notify you within 30 days of any extension required to respond fully.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca) or to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
10. Children
The KAG Diagnostic is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, contact pieter@kingsleyadvisorygroup.com and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be brought to the attention of active correspondents by email. The policy as published on kingsleyadvisorygroup.com/privacy is the current operative version.
